Dickey’s Barbecue Pit opens this Thursday in Gurnee with four weeks of specials and giveaways, including free barbecue for a year for three lucky guests. To be eligible to win free barbecue for a year guests must use hashtag #1FreeYearofBBQ on any social media page, order online or sign up for Dickey’s Big Yellow Cup Club. On Thursdays at the new location, Dickey’s will offer the first 50 guests through the door a complimentary taste of Dickey’s newest limited time offer, the Frito’s™ Pie Taco. On Fridays, Dickey’s offers 50 percent off to all first responders, and gives guest the opportunity to donate to Dickey’s charitable foundation, Barbecue, Boots & Badges.

Philanthropy Fridays— Uniformed first responders will receive 50 percent off their meal, and guests can donate to Barbecue, Boots & Badges, Dickey’s charitable foundation.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is nothing new to Bill Zimmerman, as this will be his second Dickey’s location to open. After spending 22 years in the truck leasing business Zimmerman decided it was time to own a business of his own and fell in love with Dickey’s delicious food and great atmosphere.
